Alex Stobbs conducts charity concert

This page featured an article posted 11 June 2010 which announced the inaugural concert for the orchestra conducted by King’s student Alex Stobbs, the Stobbs Scratch which would take place on June 19th.

A number of other talented soloists from the college would be accompanying the orchestra. Stobbs, who balanced a concert schedule and rigorous studies while suffering from cystic fibrosis, had previously been featured on two Channel 4 Documentaries, A Boy Called Alex (2008) and Alex: A Passion for Life (2009).

The concert would feature Mozart’s Symphony No.35 in D Major (“Haffner”) and Bach’s The Contest between Phoebus and Pan. All proceeds of the concert were to benefit Future Talent and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
